I suck at backing up the ambulance. I found that out today. Actually, I do okay if I don't have to back it up more than 3-5 feet at a time. Thankfully, I have all week to get some practice in before I take the driving test of my EVOC course. And S.W., thank God, is a saint for wanting to help me.
For the driving test, there will be 5 different skills that we'll have to demonstrate, and not only do we drive through them forwards, but backwards as well. I've always hated backing-up. So, backing-up in a huge vehicle where you have nothing but mirrors to look in is frightening. At least it is to me. S.W. and all the other veterans here can fly while in reverse in an ambulance, and me, well, let's just say I need some more practice. Lots and Lots and LOTS of practice.
And maybe a lot of prayer won't hurt either.
