No, I didn't drop off the face of the earth. I was just incapacitated, meaning that school got really busy on me there for a moment.
Now to dish about the birthday.
The night of my birthday, my roommate, a friend of ours, and I went to Blackfriar's Playhouse and saw the production of Greater Tuna. It was great, and very funny. Then the next night (Friday), the three of us, plus about 4 other people, all went to Applebee's for dinner, then to Blockbuster's to rent a couple movies, and to Kroger to purchase some beverages. Then we (the party being condensed to the orignal three plus one) went back to the dorm room and watched Red Eye and chatted/laughed/had fun until almost 2 in the morning. It was a really nice time. (I was still getting birthday wishes and presents up to Monday of this week. So yeah, it's been a great birthday.) And thanks to all you mindsayers that wished me a happy birthday as well.
The club on campus I've been pretty much in charge of, SIFE, finnally got a few new members and two new officers (now that the year is about over, but hey) so that lightens my load a bit more. Speaking of SIFE, it reminds me that I have a couple emails to send out.
Anyway, I have to tell you guys about my art projects. In photography, we have to do a series (a.k.a. a theme) and I decided to do my autobiography. Menaing that I will take pictures of my family, my house, my church, the schools I went to, places I frequented at home, things like that. I'm really excited about it. And then in printmaking, we were given the theme of "Migration" and I choose butterflies (plus the prof. liked the symbolism of the butterfly's stages of life compared to the stages of human life and how some humans move from place to place, etc.). So Jim, my prof., saw some of the pictures I printed out for inspiration, or whatever (I can't draw worth a lick, not even a straight line with a ruler), and among them were instructions for folding an origami butterfly, and he tells me I could do a 3-D printmaking project (as my main project for the course). That is I determine the size of paper I want to use, fold a butterfly with paper of whatever size to determine a template/pattern for printing different colors/designs onto the final paper I'll be using, and once the ink is dry, fold the butterfly. Not quite as easy as it sounds. The original diagram I found for the origami butterfly confused me about half-way through, so then I googled other versions and found a couple that I could do, a couple I got most of the way through before finishing it my own way, and a few others that I couldn't even read (they were in Japanese, so there was no hope there). But yeah, I'll really excited over these. Now if I could just get that excited over economics . . .
Anyway, I hope everyone is having a good week--Happy Hump Day, or whatever.
