DO NOT RUSH!!

This is just a little note to all you high schoolers and middle schoolers out there: do NOT be in a rush to get to college! It isn't all it's cracked up to be . . . or maybe I'm just venting . . .

I swear MBC is really trying to screw me over, and/or MBC just really HATES me . . . before school even started they messed me up. I had, had, a work-study job in the school library last year to help pay for tutition. Then at the end of last year, the school said that people hadn't been working their full hours and the school was going into debt because they were already paying out (yeah, right, anyway), so for this year and all years that follow, we are supposed to pay what we'd make up front and then they would just pay us, not the tutition, basically reimbursing ourselves. I was cool with that. Until, I found out that the loan I took out to cover this cost caused me to lose my work-study job. Umm . . . hello?! I need the job, you want the money, I got you the money, you screwed me out of a job! What in the world?! In the name of all things holy, and those that aren't, WHY? . . . So, I go to financial aid and they tell me that since I took out that loan, I was no longer need-based, *huh? but you wanted the money upfront!*<-doesn't matter, but that there was an opening for a non-need-based TA job (teacher's assisstant, but this was more like an office assisstant) and all I needed to do was submit my resume and the Dean and the teacher would review it. I do that. I wait. I get a call. The Dean reviewed my financial aid file as well and I'm not need-based, so I won't be getting the job. HUH?! WHAT?! *GGRRRRR!!!* Fine, whatever, I learned a lesson: wait until I know I have the job, even wait until I've been workin it for a couple weeks, and then take out the loan. *muwhahahaha!!* . . . And it wasn't like I didn't try to find a job off campus either. I went to Lowe's, Wal-Mart, and the likes, but either they weren't hiring or my schedule didn't fit their needs. Sorry but the edjumakation must come first. *sigh* The only days I have free was Friday afternoons, Saturdays, and half-day Sundays (I gotta have time to get the weekend homework done, I'm not wonder woman, although my dad seems to think so, but that's a whole different story, someone remind me later and I'll explain). . . . I did babysit, but that's not nearly enough money to pay the minimum of my credit card bills, (I had to put all my school books and supplies on them, stupid me thought I'd have a library job *HA*), and I really owe my parents and grandparents a big, and I mean BIG thank you for all the financial help. Gotta love family! . . .OK, now MBC is tryin to screw me over again. I want to try and graduate by the end of next December, but MBC doesn't seem to like that because they won't be getting as much money , and the Spanish class I have to have, in the time slot I need it, has been cancelled due to low enrollment. SO?! I'm the one living here and paying you idiots! Give me my class! So, if I take this class in the other time slot, the lab that goes with it conflicts with another class I have to have for my major, and I'll have to drop the Econ class I need for my minor. This just frustrates me to no end! . . . "AHA!" I thought I know a solution, so I send out an email to both professors (span. and comparative politics-a.k.a. pols.) explaining something that could work, if they were willing to work with me. (A) Knowing that attendance is important for both classes, would span. prof. be willing to keep the second lab so I won't miss the class?, If not, (B) would it be okay if I left span. lab early and came to pols. late? . . . So that's where I am now, waiting for a reply from them both. I hope I didn't sound rude when I added that if neither of these options worked for them, could they offer another suggestion . . . because I know that this Spanish class is only offered in the spring semester, I'm not sure about the pols class . . . But either way, I need to find another class to fill the one I'll have to drop, but I can't so that until I know what they're willing to do . . . I thought that it was break, so why am I stressin over school still?

So, yeah, the moral of my problems here, younger peoples, is do NOT be in a hurry to get to college, it's not worth the stress . . .that, or, MBC is the DEVIL!!! *grrr.....* (any of you guys have any suggestions?)
