"The web of our lives is of a mingled yarn, good and ill together." - William Shakespeare

I really like it here in D.C., except for the whole breathing in pollution thing. The pollen, where there is pollen gets me too, but at least with that I know it's seasonal. Anyway, I just thought I'd give a little update. I really like my internship and my supervisor AB. She's been trying to teach me some Turkish (the title to this post means "hello") and she introduced me to Turkish pop music. Tarkan is one good-looking guy, although he's on the short side at 5'4". He kind of has a latin vibe going in his songs, too. They reminded my roommate of Enrique Iglesias. AB said that one of his sounds sounded like Justin Timberlake. Anyway, Tarkan just released his English debut album and a few of the songs from that are at his website (tarkan.com--yeah, really predictable there). Anyways I'm really gonna hate to leave at the end of the month. The plus side is that I went on Thursday to meet with the lady who will be my supervisor at my internship in July. She was really nice, too,so it shouldn't be too bad. Plus, she told me that I have Mondays off and only have to come in every other Friday unless it was really busy and I was needed. (Awesome!) I also got to meet Senator Holmes while I was there.

So that's pretty much all that's been going on lately--working. The coming week should be fun. There's a delegation coming in Monday and will be there pretty much all day, Tuesday-Thursday I will be at the office working on my paper that I have to write for this internship (they may even post it online when it's finished), and then Friday will be spent all day at a conference thing on Turkey (the organization where I'm interning is paying for my cab ). So yeah, shouldn't be too bad. The big thing is just to make sure that I finish my paper by Friday and email it to my supervisor. Oh the paper topic: US-Turkish Relations and the PKK. Yup, fun stuff right there. And as always, if anyone is interested in reading it, I'll be glad to send it to you, once I write it of course. The good thing is that it only has to be 4-5 pages; nothing like my 25-page senior thesis. *whew*

I think that's all, other than feeling a little crappy lately, but that'll be over with in the next few days. Oh and our dishwasher broke again. We were having a bubble party in the kitchen--yeah, the suds were flowing. We put ina request to get it fixed, again, the first time was because the water wasn't running into it, and now it's leaking, but it probably won't be fixed until Monday. AL and I spent an hour washing dishes today and still didn't finish them all. Yeah, we four girl use a lot of dishes. We all like to cook. So no wonder the dishwasher went on the fritz.

Ok, now I think I'm finished updating.
