You want the good news or the bad news first?
Well, let's get to the good news, 'cause it's short and sweet--I passed my EMT test! I am now an EMT-B in VA! *Yay!* :-D
Now the bad stuff...I kinda need some advice on...here's my myspace blog from Monday:

| | Rumors are just that...rumors...
So it was brought to my attention tonight after youth group tonight that there are rumors going around the church, well at least around the youth group, that I have a problem with alcohol. That I get drunk. I was told that there are at least 3 different people who are "concerned," and each one with a different incident were I apparently got drunk.
There are only a few people here on my myspace that know about senior week at the beach last June and that had (and I do mean "had") access to my blogs (see last night's blog) here on myspace. Those people may be better than me, and while I may act like it sometimes, I never really consider myself better than anyone else. No one's perfect, we all have faults.
But, correct me if I'm wrong here, but I do not think that I have a problem with alcohol. I don't get "drunk" in the sense that the word is used. When I reach my relaxation point, I stop drinkning. Seriuosly, though, if any of you reading this thinks now, or in the future, that I have a problem with alcohol, please let me know.
Yeah, I had a few drinks at lunch yesterday, well technically it'd be considered Saturday, but I was celebrating the end of my EMT class with my classmates. We had all just finished testing and went out as a group and celebrated. That night I had 2 glasses of wine with dinner at the Olive Garden, but again, there was a small group of us and we were celebrating Skipper's birthday. Several hours had passed between these two meals. The last time I had had any alcohol prior to this past Saturday, was my birthday--a whole four weeks (one month) before.
I don't know, it just upsets me because these rumors make it sound like I drink all the time. And as you can see, I clearly don't because then I wouldn't be able to do what I like/love--my job at the bank, I would have failed EMT class, I wouldn't be able to run rescue or take care of Jon-Jon and Nate-Nate, nor would I be allowed to substitute teach.
One of Jesus' first miracles was turning water into wine. Jesus even partook in the last supper with His disciples, where the bread represented His body and the wine His blood.
Your body gets benefits from alcohol, as long as you don't drink like a fish (i.e. all the time). Doctors even reccomend some of there patients to have a glass of wine every day. My dad even gave my sisters and myself a mixture of alcohol and honey whenever we were sick growing up. My parents never denied me having a sip or a drink with them, as long as I stayed home with them, and I did.
So I guess the biggest problem with this whole situation is that I don't like people thinking bad of me for something I'm not doing. But as I said before, if you think I have a problem, please tell me.
Yeah, I guess that's all I have to say on that. My feelings are hurt, and I wish that whoever expressed "my problem" with the youth director at my church would have the guts/balls/whatever to confront me to my face.
Ok, I'm done dwelling on this. It's time to finish up some work and then go home to bed. I love you all very much, night, and sweet dreams. |
I don't know. Maybe I'm stretching the whole Jesus turning wine into water and all that, but I'm really having a hard time deciding what to do. Anyone have any advice for me? Any and all is welcome, even if you think I'm totally wrong about any and all of this. Thanks.
