Why Must We Title Anything . . .

THIS school is absolutely, wonderfully EVIL! >:-(

Supposively some kind of upgrading is being done to its satellite receivers. But I have the exact same satellite company at home, to upgrade means putting in a new smart card. Easy as that, it takes all of 10 secs, if that. SO, while are channels are temporarily screwy, I no longer am able to view TBS--not the greatest station out there, but it has my ball game on it-right now! We are also no longer able to view TNT at the moment which means no Charmed or ER reruns. I want my ball game. This school has already taken ESPN, ESPN2, and ESPN News from me my sophmore year, they absolutely, positively, CANNOT DENY ME MY TBS!!

While I wouldn't DIE from not being able to watch my men in uniform, I DO find it DPRESSING when I must go for long periods without them. Yes, I know there is an off season, that doesn't bother me as much; what bothers me is knowing full and well that they are playing on a TV channel that I SHOULD be able to see them on, but I CAN"T because of some stupid CRAP!

Anyone who knows me knows that I am a DIE-HARD fan of my teams, and there are only two major ones--Atlanta Braves baseball and Carolina Football. The rest are like sprinkles on the cake or ice cream. They add to my sports world, but it isn't a big loss if I don't watch them. Missing a Braves or Panthers game is like someone stepping on my delicious cake barefoot! (Anyone knowing me well would also know that I have this phobis thing of others' feet, I don't like them--don't like to look at them, definitely won't smell them, and God forbid if you touch me with them!) It's the basic proverbial slap-in-the-face.

So, my Bravos are winning 4-2 in the top of the ninth right now, and if it weren't for mlb.com's scoreboard, I wouldn't even have known that! I AM happy they're winning, BUT it would have been so much BETTER if I could have watched it! (Some would say I'm worse than a guy when it comes to things like this, but I don't care. These two sports and specific teams are just one of my many passions, and dagnabbit! I should be able to watch a game!)

Ok, sorry for the ranting, but I just had to get it out.

Today is Labor Day, but we still have classes, although, one of mine was cancelled because the prof. had to go to a funeral. Right now, I'm about to go get ready for Club Rush for SIFE and then dinner and an HC meeting at 8. Tomorrow I don't get to sleep in either. Although I don't have class tomorrow until 2:50pm, I do have to be up by 8am for a babysitting job that will last until about noon.

This weekend went by way too fast. Gas prices were insane at the start but leveled by the end. My sister's impromptu bday bash was great. Church was great. The whole weekend was pretty much great. Except for my poor cousin on Saturday. She's a bride's maid in a friend's wedding and she took me along with her to try on her dress which she never seen, until we got there for her to try it on, and had already paid over $200 on it. This dress is hideous! It's an A-line dress that is brunt orange in color with a fushia tie under the bust in the front. And the bride had picked these gold shoes that don't even match the dress at all. Then, the shop had ordered my cousin the dress in a size that is 2 sizes too big for her. I mean, the dress fit me! (and made me look like a pumpkin princess, but that's beside the point) and my cousin was close to tears. Mind you this dress costs $400, NOT including alterations (say what?!). The lady at the shop told my cousin that they had to get that big of a size to fit around her hips and that's why it was so big everywhere else, so tell me why my cousin could take the spaghetti straps off and the dress would fall straight down to the floor. Kristin (my cousin) said that the lady was trying to tell her that she had a fat ass, but the dress fit me, so that's obviously not true. But I did my best to keep my cousin laughing so she wouldn't cry, but seeing the dress myself, I know how horrible it is. (The best part was that we took pictures of each other in the dress so we'll always have something to laugh about, and no, I don't think I can post them because I seriuosly doubt she wants to send them to me. But maybe after it's altered and fits her properly, maybe then...)

So yeah, that was my weekend . . . how was your's?
