Wow, that was an interesting trip . . . what an experience being the only white girl with three other black girls out and about in Wally World (for those of you who don't know my southern speech, that's Wal-Mart). Let me tell you, these girls know how to have fun anywhere and everywhere they go! Stealing fabrics from each other, and wrapping paper, hitting each other with rolls of wrapping paper, runnin' from each other, calling each other "ghetto" and crazy and insane and anything else, and having arguements over which flowers (let me insert that they're FAKE flowers) looked better a certain wrapping paper . . . it was a blast, and normal I wouldn't have been there, except this time I was the transportation. Let me explain what we are going to do with the fabric, wrapping paper, and fake flowers . . .
Since we live in dorms here on campus, there are large cork boards on each floor that is decorated by the RA--one of the girls out with me--and, if so desired, by the rest of the hall. We still had Halloween decorations up until just about 30 minutes ago when I went to take them down, 'cause according to my RA, "Now we have new stuff!" *LOL* She is such a trip! So anyway, we have 2 large boards-one on each floor, and 4 smaller boards-2 on each floor. One the two big boards, I had helped come up with the themes--upstairs is Valentine's Day; downstairs is a combination of Black History Month (February) and Women's History Month (March). So mainly the downstair's board is going to be mostly about women, with a special emphasis on Black women. Shareen, my RA, and I are gonna start putting everything up tonight, but we won't finish it until probably tomorrow. OK, on to the smaller boards . . . one downstairs belongs to our Senators, they're doing their own thing, and the other Shareen and I are putting up St. Patrick's Day fabric and I'm not sure what else . . . that's the only thing that we got that was St. Patrick-y. I think she also wanted to do a St. Patrick's board upstairs too, and I have no idea about the second small board upstiars, it may belong to the HP, Hall President, or maybe even JB or HC, Judicial Board or Honor Council, but I dunno why JB or HC would have anything to do with the boards here in this dorm since they live elsewhere . . . but who knows? I guess I'll get the 411 when Shareen gets back from her job at 10, just in time for WTF radio! I don't believe she knows anything about it, so I may just introduce her to it and, maybe, get her hooked too! *hehehe . . . I like hatching evil plans . . . lol, well, it's not really evil . . . but you get the drift* So, yeah, my weekend is going to be filled with reading for all my professors and a little homework (we just got started back, so it's not too intense yet), cleaning out my closet here at school and my desk, and putting up the boards . . . fun fun fun . . .
Other than today's Wal-Mart adventure and making plans for this weekend, nothing much has really been going on . . .so, I guess this is it for now, I'm gonna get on up outta here and go hunt for some dinner.
Oh and btw, I'm sending out a HAPPY BIRTHDAY to NOMAD and a HAPPY ONE-YEAR BLOGVERSARY to AAP!! Hope you both had wonderful days . . .
